SUBSTITUTE - PARAEDUCATORS
Job Title: Substitute ParaEducators Reports to: Building Administrators FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, must be uploaded into application;
- Must have one of the following:
a. An AA degree (must upload unofficial transcript into application), OR
b. 72 quarter college credits (must upload unofficial transcript into application), OR
c. 48 semester college credits (must upload unofficial transcript into application), OR
d. A passing score on the ETS Para-Pro test. Para-Pro test must be taken and passed prior to subbing.
- Experience working with children and students preferred;
- Ability to communicate professionally with students, parents/guardians, administrators and other school staff;
- Ability to follow and enforce rules, policies and procedures;
- Must be punctual and reliable;
- Fingerprint background check is required;
- Must pass a criminal background check that meets required state, federal, and Clarkston School District standards;
- Must have, or be able to obtain, current valid CPR/First aid certificate
- Safe Schools Training is REQUIRED, and needs to be completed BEFORE start date
Job Description:
- Assist teacher in providing small gropu and individual instruction;
- Correct daily work assignments of students in all areas;
- Operate office equipment;
- Assist individual students in teacher-monitored classrooms;
- Assist with recess and/or crosswalk duties as needed;
- Assist teacher in monitoring individual student objectives;
- Provide for student safety;
- Assist students with the development of self-help skills, vocal skills and fine and gross motor skills;
- Assist with maintaining discipline;
- Implement behavior intervention strategies;
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, kneal, crawl and grasp as required to successfully perform all duteis and requirements;
- Other duties as assigned by Building Administrator
